Can I join the SSC even if I am not a “STEM student” ?
Yes! Anyone who is interested in learning more about the different branches of science, and networking in the field can join. Students in any and every program are encouraged to be apart of our community.
What is this Club for?
The SSC aims to form an connection between various scientific fields (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Psychology…etc) by creating an environment where students come together to exchange knowledge about all of these different fields, offering the members a holistic overview of the sciences as a whole.
We achieve this goal by creating a community where members can interact and network during different group events and meetings.
How do I join the SSC?
Joining the SSC is just like joining every other recognised student organisation at the University of Toronto. The period to join the SSC is from the first day of each fall semester – first week of September – to September 30th. If you miss the deadline to join, but still want to, you can email us at ssc@studentorg.utoronto.ca and we will assist you!
Do I have to attend all events and meetings?
We require a minimum of two meetings (subject to change according to number of meetings) attendances per academic semester. As of events, there are no regulations on how many events you have to attend. However, we encourage attendance at events considering that attendance allows you – as a group member – to meet people, network, and learn.
What do I have to do if I join the SSC?
Attend events and be willing to be apart of our community!
